ATLANTA (March 27, 2009) -- More intense competition and passionate music performances from aspiring Gospel/Christian singers hoping to make their dreams come true will be featured as Gospel Music Channel (GMC) television network announced today that it has renewed it's popular American Idol®-like talent search series Gospel Dream for a fourth season. Gospel Dream will be seen Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) through the summer starting June 27. The theme for the season will be "The Greatest Inspirational Songs of All Time."
Gospel Dream will once again invite performers from all Gospel/Christian styles, including traditional, rock, pop, country and soul, to compete on national television for a chance to win a record and music video deal, among other prizes. Solo artists, ages 16 to 40, are eligible to audition for Gospel Dream. 30-35 contestants will be invited to compete for the crown in Nashville. Audition registration information can be found at http://www.gospelmusicchannel.com/gospeldream -- which will include the ability for people to enter online by submitting a video performance through Christian and social networking site tangle.com. New this year will be the ability for someone who isn't competing to win a $1000 "Referral Fee" by recommending the contestant who ultimately is crowned the winner.
The cities and dates scheduled for Gospel Dream feeder auditions are:
Seattle -- April 1
Minneapolis -- April 8
Dallas -- April 10
